Blog Jammin’: Newmstradamus Predicts Touchscreen iPod

September 6, 2007 · 3 Comments

Well, it looks like I am like a modern-day Nostra-fuckin-damus. I guessed it right that Apple would be rolling out its new touchscreen iPod, the iPod Touch (below), yesterday. It was one of many new things that Apple had up its sleeve. The iPod touch looks great, mimicking the iPhone’s interface and web capabilities. You can also download from the iTune store on the fly. The one weakness is that the iPod Touch only comes in 8 and 16 GB sizes for $299 and $399. That said, they also rolled out the iPod classic line, which sports the interface that we’ve grown used to, but have kicked up the storage to 80 GB (for $249) and 160 GB (for $349)!!! That’s right, I said 160 emm-effin’ gigs (for less than the price of a 16 GB iPod Touch)! Can you tell yet which one I just ordered?

Not only that, Apple also lowered the price on their 8GB iPhone by $200…now $399! And they nixed the 6 GB model. I kinda feel bad for the people I know that bought it a month ago for $600. I guess it shows that the demand wasn’t as great as Apple initially expected. Here’s the link to consumerist temptation.

Here’s some other things not brought to you by Apple…

Go see our friend, Jamie Isenstein’s Acephal Magical art exhibit at Andrew Kreps Gallery featuring performance, video and sculptural elements interacting. Runs from September 6th-October 20th.

Be sure to check out another friend, Stephanie Skaff’s Make Me One With Everything project downtown next week…Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Rolling Stone talks to Michael Anthony about the Van Halen reunion. Honestly, how will they replace his trademark vocals? Will they fly his vocal in? I say probably.

Zesty Alex Trebek. This is funny shit.

Where me and Mo will be Saturday night!

Cool new Black Hollies single to be heard at Dead Flowers MySpace page…’Paisley Pattern Ground‘.

Kanye or Fiddy? Who cares? I guess a bunch of people.

Album download of the week…Sensational Alex Harvey Band’s Impossible Dream. Thanks RockRula!

Oh yeah, Jerry Lewis apologizes.

Next up for Apple…the iEverything. You have to see this video by comedy duo, Pete and Brian!

What else is up, yo?
